To Do List for your First Semester - RN-BS

1. Complete Your FAFSA



Create your FSA ID before you start your FAFSA application.  UMD school code that you will need is 002210
Helpful Tips
  • Be aware of deadlines. Do not wait to be accepted for admission. Complete the FAFSA as soon after October 1 as possible. Priority consideration deadline is March 1.
  • Keep a file for your records of all financial aid materials. Keep copies of all documents including the FAFSA.
  • Respond promptly to all requests for information. If additional documentation is required, your application file cannot be completed until we have received and reviewed requested documents.
  • Be sure your name and student ID are on all correspondence.
  • Notify Financial Aid Services in writing of all outside scholarships, awards, additional resources, or unique family circumstances.
Call University Enrollment to find out if they received your FAFSA. It takes 5-7 Business days to process.

2. Read Your Welcome letter and Attachments


Your welcome letter has all the information you need to know about what to expect when coming into the RN-BS program. It explains about the registration process and included your plan of Nursing classes. The attachments explain how to enroll into myCourses.


3. Set Up Your Student Email
New Students: Welcome to Computing and Information Technology Services (CITS)
IT (information technology) services require activation of: UMassD Logon: the username and password for access to the myUMassD portal where you will find all other IT tools and services such as COIN, myCourses, and Office365.

Do you know your 8-digit UMass Dartmouth student ID number? This is the identification number you may have used to check your admission application status online. This number will also be printed on your bill and on any new student ID cards that are issued. If you don't know this number, look it up here.

Activate your UMass Logon account.



myUMassD, email, and the student information system COIN are official means of communication at UMass Dartmouth. So activate now!
Remember: You'll use your UMassD Logon username and password and your 8-digit student ID number often over the next few years. So remember them, but, also, keep them private and secure.
